Best known and widely used in this country, the Beaked Yucca (Yucca rostrata) scores with blue-gray, very bright, narrow leaves and a stout stem, which is surrounded by a beige "skirt" of older leaves. Can be planted out in the garden in a sunny, arid spot and needs protection from moisture.
