Description

Orange bougainvilleas like the variety 'Scarlett O'Hara' offer you several flower colors instead of just one. The barely opened flowers show a yellowish orange that darkens with each day and becomes a vibrant orange to orange-red when in full bloom. After that the flowers fade to pinks of various shades. Despite all this spectacle, orange bougainvilleas belong to the robust and vigorous representatives of their climbing species. Care tip: If you don't want to let the upright shoots that cling to their climbing aids grow unhindered in length, you can keep them low and bushy by consistently pruning them after each flush of flowers, and additionally in March.

punkt_gruen.gif Quality: intensely colored perennial bloomers, vigorous, Mediterranean climbers or pruned as shrubs/standards

punkt_gruen.gif Use: from May outside on balcony & terrace; all year round in heated winter gardens
