Cydonia oblonga var. oblonga - Common Quince
Unlike the apple quince, the pear quince (Cydonia) forms more elongated fruits, but the differences are not always clear due to the great variety of fruit shapes, and the same applies to the taste. Therefore, it does not really matter whether you choose the apple or pear quince. Self-cooked jelly as a fruit spread tastes deliciously lemon fresh in both cases.
